The primary aim of the organization is the restoration of the attitude to the Belarusian language as to the main spiritual heritage of the Belarusian people, its promotion in all the spheres of the public life of the country, the preservation of its purity and identity.

The chief purposes are:
1. The preservation of the national culture, customs and traditions, the feeling of national identity.
2. The struggle against the discrimination of the language by the authorities.
3. The support of the Belarusians abroad.
4. The development of pre-school, secondary and university education in the Belarusian language.
5. Reciprocal cultural international contacts for the sake of Belarusian culture promotion and cross-cultural exchange.
