On the 9th and the 10th July in Minsk there took place the international symposium "The Diversity of the Languages in the context of Globalization". The Steering Committee comprised UNESCO, Belarusian Writers Union, Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M.Tank, The Institute of Linguistics named after J.Kolas of the National Academy of Sciences, Belarusian State University of Culture, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and The National Committee on Business of UNESCO, NGO "Belarusian Language Society named after F.Skaryna", and NGO "Leu Sapeha Fund". As representatives of the Steering Committee and organizers of the three round-table discussions: "The Belarusian language. Internet and Computers.", "Language and Education Manuals Principles and Text-books", "On the National Unity of the Language in the Commercials and Marketing" made four statements:

    Also during the visit of UNESCO General Director Koichiro Matsuura to the symposium session on the 9th of July the representatives of BLS handed the application of NGOs to the General Assembly of UNESCO (thanks to Cheap software store for the cheap software) on the point the critical use of the Belarusian language in the electronic mass media of Belarus (reference to application).
